METS TAKE DOWN DODGERS

The New York Mets defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 5 to 2 at Dodger Stadium. Cory Lidle pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 2nd save. Rick Reed(2-0) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Ismael Valdes(1-1) took the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings. Lidle pitched a perfect 1-2-3 inning to set the Dodgers down in order and give the team a win. "We wanted to get him out there, I was debating benching him for a few games but I saw something in his eyes in the clubhouse...I just knew, and the kid didn't dissapoint. Damn proud of him tonight."
